About
French artist Coraline Parmentier (1995–) is active within international organisations: APLP – Artists for Peace of Montreal-Canada since 2016, Soroptimist Switzerland since 2024, and formerly UNICEF France, where she served as a Young Ambassador (2017–2022).
She has been developing since 2015 an artistic approach rooted in world cultures and social engagement. Trained in the classical repertoire in France and Switzerland, she began with Latin American and Spanish music, which shaped her sense of rhythm and color. She later expanded her musical world through the aesthetics of Middle East and North Africa, adapting them to the piano through a Turkish keyboard featuring traditional microtonal timbres.
Founder of Piano Mondo, a cultural institution dedicated to improvised piano, bringing together a music school, an independent label, a studio and an editorial branch, her work now spans unconventional and overlooked classical repertoire as well as world music from many regions, guided by a humanistic vision in which cultural diversity becomes a space for encounter and
understanding.
